A Leeds Beckett University Events Management graduate is bringing the ASICS Neon Run to Leeds on Saturday 18 October.

Adam Goodger completed his BA (Hons) degree in Events Management in 2013. During his time at our University, he took part in the study abroad program, spending a semester in Melbourne, Victoria, where he worked on Ironman Melbourne and met the now-director of Sport 3 Event Management, Shane Smith.

Shane was the head of Ironman in Australia at the time and said: “Adam showed an impeccable work ethic while working on our event in Melbourne. His enthusiasm, combined with his professional approach, made it easy for us to offer him the role of Events Operations Manager of Sport 3 Event Management UK.”

In this role, Adam brought Triathlon Pink to Leeds in July, as well as to other venues around the country. His biggest endeavour as Events Operations Manager will now be this October when Neon Run UK will be held in Leeds and Sunderland. Adam was instrumental in choosing Leeds as the first venue for Neon Run, and is excited to be running this event in the city where he learned his craft:

“I loved my time at Leeds Beckett, and am very excited to be hosting Neon Run here in Leeds. The Events Management course at Leeds Beckett enabled me to gain the necessary skills to be the Operations Manager for Sport 3 Events, and Leeds is the ideal host venue for my first Neon Run event.”

ASICS Neon Run Leeds is a 5km night run to the backdrop of music and spectacular lighting, culminating with a dance party at the finish line. Competitors can jog, walk, run and dance their way through the rock, pop, disco and iconic British music zones on the course. The final celebration is the DJ-hosted dance party at the end of the race, complete with dancers and light show.
