Principal Lecturer, Jackie Mulligan, has been appointed to MPI (Meeting Professionals International) UK's Board of Directors as Vice President (VP) of Innovation.
Jackie took up the post starting Tuesday 1 July and forms part of a teamof 11 dedicated meeting professionals who will lead the chapter for the next 12 months, drawing from a variety of industry experience and skills.
Jackie commented: "I am delighted to be joining the Board and supporting the MPI UK and Ireland Chapter to progress professional education and look forward to encouraging innovation within industry at the range of networking and educational events MPI produces. I am very proud that our University supports us to work so closely with industry and look forward to the next 12 months with MPI."
Jackie will be tasked with bringing the most up-to-date research and innovation to the association's activities as VP of Innovation. In her work at the UK Centre for Events Management, Jackie has contributed to several pieces of research conducted on behalf of MPI Global, including the Future of Meetings research.
Heading up the team until July 2015 will be president Miguel Neves (Senior Online Community Manager, IMEX Group), who will be followed by Richard Parker, CMM (Director of Healthcare Strategy, Zibrant) as President Elect, taking on the President role on 1 July 2015. Samme Allen (Head of C&E Sales, Rugby Football Union) continues her role as chapter Past President, guiding the board with her valuable MPI knowledge and experience.
The core team of vice presidents remains in place with Jane Baker (Commercial Director UK, CWT Meetings & Events) as VP of Education, tasked with delivering key educational content throughout the chapter's educational events supporting the CMP certification. Jamie Ades (Senior Account Manager - Associations, ExCeL London) continues his work as VP of Communications strategically managing the chapter's marketing and communication.
With Ruth Bennett (Category Manager Attractions & Days Out, Buyagift) leaving her role at London & Partners, the VP of Membership role is being filled by Richard Allchild (Sales Manager, IMEX Group). Completing the chapter's executive committee is Ed Bolling (General Manager, Ironmongers' Hall) who will oversee the management of the chapter's finances and oversee all educational and event driven investments.
With the chapter's focus on certification, Liz Rice (Director, Metro Broadcast) is continuing her work in developing and promoting the CMP in the UK and Ireland as VP of Certification.
Two additional non-voting board members have joined as Deputy VPs. Berivan Kockaya, CMP (Event Manager, ICSC Europe) will be assisting Liz in the chapter's mission to effectively implement the CMP into the UK and Ireland's meetings industry. Supporting Richard Allchild with the VP Membership roll will be Adam Said (Senior Executive- Product Development, TFI Group) who will help the chapter understand the needs of individual MPI members and promote the full use of MPI's member benefits.
